Portland shows how to support black restaurateurs in a big way during Black Restaurant Days August 2015

More than 6,000 Portlanders visited 60 black-owned eateries on the last week of the 12th annual National Black Business Month in a great display of demand for Freedom Food that sparked even more followers during September in New York.  Bertha Pearl was the catalyst for the campaign, which she launched on social media, with extensive mass media support.  Cannon's Rib Express , at 5410 NE 33d Ave,, was among the beneficiaries.
