By owning our own data through the 21 State of Black Business reports, we have evaluated state governments and federal agencies using our 10 Key Factors for Black Business Success; and trained our partners with the National Black Caucus of State Legislators and African-American Mayors Association to create targeted appropriations and legislation that addressres taxation without representation

Recent milestones

$16 billion to 900,000 African-American entrepreneurs in 2021 through PPP program after we analyzed the first tranche and revealed less than $500 million in loans to Black firms.
160,000 new Black nurses from 2018 to 2022, growing the largest professional group by 50 percent and improving health outcomes with our focus on life science.
Demonstrating community based economic development with Central Brooklyn Economic Development Corp., which had the steepest reduction in crime in New York City and was picked as Community Partner of the Year by Local Initiatives Support Corp.
Doubling Black Construction Employment from 2.9% to 7.1% in three years
Connecting federal agencies and Congress with the Southern Regional Economic Roundtable representing 50 organizations across 7 states to insure that Justice 40 spending actuallly reaches the 105 majority Black counties across the Black Belt from North Carolina to Misssissippi

$300 Million Appropriation by New York legislature led by Senate Majority Leader Andrea Stewart-Cousins and Speaker Carl Heastie to preserve services at University Hospital/Downstate Medical Center
Launching the Sargent Johnson National Museum of African-American Art at Fisherman's Wharf as a demonstration of the New Black Urbanism
