Our Roots Run Deep: the Black Experience in California, Vols. 1-4 has informed the state’s school children since 1992 with demonstrated gains in improvement within 60 days after use of the book and its unique pedagogy. Scholarly presentations to the American Historical Association, American Educational Research Association and Association for the Study of African-American Life and History have led to the 6,000 site California African-American Freedom Trail.
