In testimony for the COVID-19 Health Equity Task Force meeting July 30, the Co-Founder of the 18th annual National Black Busnesss Month encouraged the use of African-American health businesses to insure that 35 million unvacciinated African-Americans receive the life-saving medicine during August.

In line with the June 1 Presidential statement on reducing the wealth gap, the Biden-Harris administration has committed to dramatically increase federal procurement with small disadvantaged businesses
John William Templeton, who made two presentations at UC-San Francisco in 2020 on the links between economic development and health, said the failure to use Black-owned firms contributes to vaccine hesitancy because of a history of neglect by pharmaceutical firms.
