Spring release of 2019 and 2020 vintages from Thomas T. Thomas Vineyards

BMWORLDWIDE–MENDECINO COUNTY, CA-Thomas T. Thomas Vineyards announces the 2022 Spring Release with the first offerings from its 2019 vintage featuring our 2019 Thomas T Thomas Vineyard “T” Anderson Valley Pinot Noir and  2019 Thomas T Thomas Vineyards Anderson Valley Estate Grown Pinot Noir.

Owner Thomas T. Thomas says, “In addition, we are very excited to offer the Inaugural Bottling of our 2020 “T” Anderson Valley Chardonnay.  All three of these wine offerings display a beautiful reflection of their respective vintages and the vineyard sites where the grapes were grown.

The 2019 grape harvest started two weeks earlier than 2018. Cool temperatures and a long growing season resulted in a high-quality crop with full flavors, fresh acidity and superb balance, that allowed the grapes to mature gradually and at lower sugars. Wildfires in October did not impact the harvest as all fruit was harvested on September 14th and 21st.  The 2019 wines are approachable now, but will benefit with short-term cellaring.

The 2020 growing season was marked by the challenges of COVID-19, record wildfires and an August/September heat spell that accelerated ripening, resulting in an early start to harvest by two weeks as compared to 2019, as we harvested our pinot fruit on September 5th and 6th. The Chardonnay fruit, which comes from the deep end of Anderson Valley, was harvested later in the month of September.

Thomas adds, “Early tastings of our 2020 Pinots reveal wonderful medium to full body flavors at a lower alcohol level and the chardonnay, displays wonderful stone fruit and tropical flavors..”
