BMWorldwide–New York City– I first met Burna Boy on Wall Street.

This week, he makes his biggest splash ever across America with a sold-out concert in Madison Square Garden that will be streamed live April 28 at 9 pm Eastern.

United Bank of Africa Chairman Tony Elumelu has to be part of that awakening.  As honoree at the Business Council for International Understanding in December 2016, his entertainment was a performance by Burna Boy at Cipriani’s.

I was there along with leaders of the National Bankers Association as we opened doors of cooperation between African and African-American banks.

Elumelu has continued to promote the music by inviting Burna Boy, Davido and Whizkid, the three top stars of Afrobeat to his Christmas party last December.
